Traditional timber flush casements & front door in 17th century cottage

Timber flush casement windows in Oxford Clay with single, fine astragal bar and solid timber Staverton front door with bevel decorative glass and chrome ironmongery

We were delighted to install a timber front door and our flush casement windows in this characterful cottage, believed to be one of the oldest in the village of Kirby-le-Soken on the North Eastern point of Essex.

Set in an area of historical significance, with the property dating back to 1620, the home owners have worked hard to retain all of its charm, history and period features (such as original, exposed wooden beams, inglenook fireplaces and a traditional cottage kitchen), whilst satisfying the requirements that come with being in a conservation area, and creating a modern, comfortable home.

The timber flush casement windows are finished in Oxford Clay with a single, fine 18mm horizontal astragal bar are matched to a Staverton solid timber front door with Bevel decorative glass and stylish chrome ironmongery.

Considered design, sympathetic choices and guidance from our designers has ensured that this cottage retains the appeal that makes it such a landmark property in its surroundings.
