Suffolk Interior Designer’s Georgian home enhanced with Timber windows & front door

Bringing back Georgian charm with timber windows & doors
A beautiful installation, sympathetic to the history of this inspiring Suffolk home.
We were delighted to be chosen by Suffolk Interior Designer, Lindsey Rendal, to design and install timber windows and a timber front door during the restoration of the family’s Georgian Rectory. Previously devastated by fire and crudely renovated without much thought for the period of the property, the new owners had a considerable project on their hands. With extensive professional experience and an exceptional eye for design, Lindsey was the right person for the job and has achieved a truly fabulous transformation. These images are shared with the kind permission of Lindsey and the photographer, having been featured in 25 Beautiful Homes Magazine.
Timber casement windows with Georgian bars
Our flush casement windows feature 18mm glazing bars, toughened glass and are colour matched on the inside to Farrow & Ball ‘Wevet’ to blend beautifully with the interior decoration. For the exterior, another Farrow & Ball colour match was chosen; Slipper Satin, which works perfectly with the brickwork.
Lindsey chose the Hinton aged brass handles and peg stays to complement the handles and taps in the kitchen.
These windows offer opening on both sides, are sustainably FSC certified and come with a 12 year paint guarantee as standard, as do all of our painted timber windows and doors.

Timber sash windows add period charm

Traditional sash windows create a beautiful feature inside whilst maintaing the heritage of the building on the outside. Lindsey chose our slim sash window, crafted from engineered timber and operated by nylon cords and weights, which ensure the sashes lift and close effortlessly.
Continuing the colour scheme through the home with Farrow & Ball’s muted Slipper Satin colour match, it has been elegantly paired with mottled antique brass furniture and traditional ovolo mouldings and sash horns.
Making an entrance – a new timber front door

Positioned front and centre of this impressive home is our timber Chalfont Townhouse front door. Contrasting with the soft tones of the sash windows surrounding it, Farrow & Ball’s Stiffkey blue makes a regal statement and completes the picture on the outside perfectly. Lindsey has chosen to match the inside of the door with the interior, reflecting light and giving the hallway a wonderful feeling of space.
On the outside, raised and fielded panels add definition and texture, with hand crafted Samuel Heath antique brass unlacquered furniture adding a further touch of class on both sides.
