A stunning new timber entrance door transforms an Ipswich home
Creating a warmer welcome with a new front door
Having lived in their detached Ipswich home since it was built in 1995, Susan and Samuel knew it was time to replace their original front door. After almost 30 years, the door had become increasingly draughty, leaving the house feeling cold during the winter months.
They wanted a new door that would offer improved insulation and security, while enhancing the appearance of their entrance. Having discovered our showroom from visiting Notcutts Garden Centre in Woodbridge, Susan and Samuel were immediately impressed by the quality of the timber doors and knew it was the right solution for their home.

Beautiful design with everyday living in mind
Susan and Samuel chose a Frenchay style door in Meranti hardwood, framed by matching side lights. Finished in Harewood Grey, the traditional design features raised and fielded panels, creating a substantial yet elegant entrance that feels well suited to the property.
Fiona suggested making the door slightly larger and the side panels smaller, a small change, but it looks much nicer than the older door.
The look was completed with 316 Coastal satin stainless steel furniture. Etched Star toughened glass brings an additional decorative element to the entrance, allowing natural light through while complementing the traditional character of the door.

An entrance door that exceeded expectations
The finished door has transformed the entrance, providing the improved insulation and security Susan and Samuel were looking for, while creating a more welcoming and beautifully considered first impression.
They were delighted with the result, particularly the combination of the elegant design, etched glass and easy-to-use thumb lock. Most importantly, the new door has put an end to the draughts that in the cold weather.
For Susan and Samuel, the experience has also been the beginning of a lasting relationship with The Burgess Group, with the team going on to complete two further projects for them.
We would have no hesitation in recommending The Burgess Group. Since the front door they have already completed two additional projects for us.
