Timber cottage casement windows & French doors for historic Suffolk cottage

Mr & Mrs MacKinnon’s country home in Suffolk, which now features our timber cottage casement windows and French doors, has origins back to the 1400’s.

The cottage is brimming with original character, such as beams, stone floors and fireplaces, but it had been derelict for years. A renovation in the 1970s by the previous owner saw a mis-match of single glazed windows installed, with very thick frames and bars blocking out the light.

Multiple visits to our showroom in Woodbridge and other installations nearby, led Mr & Mrs MacKinnon to choose our traditional timber cottage casement windows, and also a set of French doors with additional side panels for the rear of the house.

The new windows and doors have let the light flood in, whilst dramatically improving energy efficiency and security and restoring the former glory of this historic home, with beautifully elegant designs that are in keeping with the period of the property.

Since our original installation we have had the pleasure of returning to the cottage to replace the entrance door with a beautiful traditional timber design.
