Statement timber door brings warmth to Ipswich home

Creating a warmer welcome with a new entrance door

Though the original front door had some lovely qualities, our customers, Somer and Dan, wanted to replace it with a traditional timber door that prevented the drafts that they had been suffering, and improved the security of the home, whilst providing a striking focal point to the outside.

A bespoke timber door with traditional character

Somer and Dan chose a beautiful traditional entrance door in Grey Blue, with an envelope panel and bolection moulding, opting for etched star glass to allow the light through but still offer privacy, and complemented it with Samuel Heath antique brass unlacquered door furniture.

For the doorframe, we followed the original arc of the brickwork and installed an arched fanlight, featuring specialist gilding of the house number. This sits above the door and the two slim coordinating side panels.
