Ultra slim aluminium sliding doors transform Aldeburgh family home

Just a stone’s throw from the beach and the wonderful town of Aldeburgh, Andrew’s family home has been transformed with an impressive extension, finished with our ultra slim aluminium sliding doors.

The extension was undertaken to create a contemporary open plan living space, perfect for entertaining and for the family to be together.  It combined the kitchen and dining areas, which had previously been separate, making room for a beautiful new kitchen and flooding light throughout.   It created not only beautiful views of the garden, but also easy access to the outside, previously only possible through the sitting room. 

In place of the old conservatory, the new extension contained three sets of our sliding doors, a large three panel installation along the back of the house, a further set of doors to the side to enable a beautiful corner opening, and a final pair from the sitting room.

Recommended to The Burgess Group by the architect, Andrew said of the installation:

“We wanted ceiling to floor glass to maximise the view of the garden and were drawn to the doors by the thin profiles and how light they are to move; these were the two features we really wanted.  We’re very happy.”

Andrew and his family opted for our Sunflex SVG20 Aluminium sliding doors, with a minimal 20mm sightline between panels.  They selected flush stacking & floor, marine grade treatment and a stainless steel bar handle on the inside, with a flush handle outside.
