Opening up home and garden with bi-fold doors
We were delighted to be chosen to install our timber doors into this beautiful home in Essex.
The owners were keen to be sympathetic to the period charm and wonderful features of the property, whilst benefitting from the more modern concept of opening up the whole width of both the kitchen and the dining rooms to the garden. Our traditional timber bifold doors did just that.
Engineered from multiple layers of sustainably sourced FSC timber, these fully glazed doors flood light into the rooms whilst beautifully framing the garden beyond. Traditional Ovolo mouldings stay true to the style of the house, whilst chrome handles add a touch of the contemporary.
A statement making entrance door
This hardwood engineered timber door makes for a dramatic entrance, with an arched head handcrafted for the opening, and a bold choice of colour; the black contrasting fabulously with the red brickwork and white frames.
Like the bi-fold doors, the front door features traditional Ovolo mouldings, which frame raised and fielded panels and feature a hand finished Samuel Heath chrome plated Doctors Door knocker, below a small clear glass window to give privacy with visibility of arriving visitors.
All of our doors are fitted with multi point locking, connecting door and frame at multiple points up and down the frame. Combined with toughened glass, this ensures our doors are highly secure.
Whether it’s a striking black like this one you choose, or any of our beautiful standard colours, Farrow & Ball or RAL colours, you can rest assured our micro porous paint will stand the test of time. So much so that we guarantee all of our timber paint colours now for 12 years. If you do decide to repaint your timber doors or windows, with just a very light sand down, you can simply paint straight over the top – just make sure it’s another micro porous paint.
