Evolution timber alternative windows transform this picturesque home
Wendy and Andy had planned on extending this beautiful countryside home in Great Chishall, Cambridgeshire, even before they moved in. Their vision being to sympathetically provide balance and symmetry whilst creating a comfortable living space. They were so impressed by a set of French doors that had actually been installed by the previous owners, convinced they were timber, they were in fact from our ‘timber alternative’ Evolution (PVCU) range. They approached us to set the wheels in motion.
Initially, Wendy and Andy had planned to purchase windows and doors for their extension only, understanding the aesthetic and lifestyle advantages that would come with the new products, they decided to replace all of the windows and doors throughout the property. Their old windows were softwood, with secondary glazing, leading to cold and damp living conditions.
When it came to choosing The Burgess Group, it was really sealed by the quality of the existing French doors along with the meeting with the owner, Edward Burgess. Edward met with Wendy and Andy to discuss the next phase for the extension. “His clear passion for design, paying particular attention to the symmetry and sightlines of the proposed window and door project gave us the confidence to place an order with him.”
The Evolution range of windows and doors emulate the traditional look and features found in a timber window, such as ovolo mouldings, butt jointed frames and attractive astragal bars, coupled with optimum thermal performance and minimal maintenance. As proven by Wendy and Andy, it is difficult to distinguish a timber window from an Evolution one.
There is no doubt that this stunning home, in the most picturesque grounds, deserved the high-quality windows and doors that Andy and Wendy set their hearts on.
