Timber flush casement windows enhance 1957 Bury home

White timber flush casement windows in Bury St Edmunds

This beautiful family home in Bury St Edmunds has seen many extensions in the 40 years the Driver family have been living there.  Set among beautiful grounds, the substantial property was built with wooden casement windows which needed replacing.

“Our house was built in 1957 and, as well as some of the original window frames becoming warped, they were only single glazed and we knew we’d have to do something about them.

We looked around before making our selection but location had a lot to do with it. Having a showroom nearby meant that we were able to choose someone that could not only supply the windows but install them too.

The installers completed the job in three agreed stages. On each occasion it’s been the same people, very decent chaps who clearly knew what they were doing and cleaned up perfectly afterwards.

The family opted for traditional flush casement windows, finished in White with slim 18mm ovolo astragal bars, to reflect the original style and design of the property.

“This has always been a very light house with lots of windows, and the new windows are marvellous as they have enhanced this even further; it feels even more light and airy now.”
